Netflix on Saturday (June 17), released the trailer for its upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series One Piece. The trailer gives fans a glimpse of what to expect in the new series, including Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) setting sail on his journey to become the King of the Pirates.
One piece tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who dreams of becoming the King of the Pirates. Luffy sets sail on his journey with a crew of misfits, including Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji. The Straw Hats travel the world, fighting pirates, sea monsters, and other enemies in search of the One Piece, a legendary treasure.
The trailer also features the other members of Luffy’s crew, including Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson), and Sanji (Taz Skylar). The trailer also shows off some of the action and adventure that fans can expect from the series, including Luffy’s rubber powers and the Straw Hats’ battles against pirates, sea monsters, and other enemies.
The One Piece live-action series is being produced by Tomorrow Studios, with Steven Maeda, a supervising producer on Lost, serving as showrunner.
