Netflix today (October 20) released the trailer for the highly anticipated fifth season of The Crown on its YouTube page.

Inspired by real events, this fictionalised dramatisation tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign. This season is set to depict the events of the early 90s, including the tumultuous marriage between Prince Charles and Princess Diana and the circumstances leading to Diana’s passing.

The release of the trailer occurred just hours after the resignation of British Prime Minister Liz Truss, the last prime minister appointed by Queen Elizabeth, who died in September.
