In a shocking incident, American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was brutally attacked by a group of men inside a gym in South Florida. The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was reportedly inside the sauna at an LA Fitness when he was suddenly ambushed without any warning.

According to TMZ, his attorney, Lance Lazzaro said 6ix9ine tried to fight off the attackers, but there were too many of them, and he was severely beaten before they fled the scene. The gym staff heard the commotion and immediately called the police.

The rapper was rushed to a hospital by ambulance with injuries so severe that he had to be admitted. Photos of him taken at the hospital show visible gashes and swelling on his face, along with injuries to his jaw, ribs, and back.

Lazzaro said that he plans to call the Feds to ensure that 6ix9ine gets the protection he needs. The rapper was granted early release from federal prison after cooperating with authorities to land several of his gang member cohorts behind bars.

It’s currently unclear if the gym attack had anything to do with Tekashi’s cooperation. However, a video has surfaced showing a portion of the attack, with one man continuously hitting the rapper while he does his best to defend his face.
