Following an update that brought high-definition (HD) photo sharing, WhatsApp, the widely-used messaging platform, has come through with its promise of (HD) video-sharing support.

The original announcement about HD photo sharing, made by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a Facebook post on Thursday, August 17, ended with a message about HD video sharing being an upcoming feature that users could expect.

Upon updating the app, users will immediately notice the addition of a prominent “HD” button located at the top right corner of the video-sharing screen. Tapping on the “HD” button triggers a pop-up menu that offers users a choice between two quality options: “Standard Quality” and “HD Quality”.

This button serves as the gateway to an enhanced video-sharing experience, allowing users to send videos in 720p HD quality.
