In his televised Address to the Nation last night, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that Iran would be subjected to heavy bombardment over the next two to three weeks.
He further informed Americans that all objectives were almost complete with Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism, now having no air force, no ships, its strike capabilities severely diminished and the leaders of its regime killed all due to military action by both the United States and Israel.
President Trump declared, “ We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. They were the bully of the Middle East, but they’re the bully no longer. This is a true investment in your children and grandchildren’s future.
“We are in this military operation- so powerful, so brilliant-against one of the most powerful countries, for 32 days, and that country has been eviserated and essentially is really no longer a threat.”
Yesterday was the beginning of Passover for Israel and Iran sent many people running for cover as it rained down missiles on Tel Aviv, the most since the war started. There are reports that as many as 80 per cent of Iranian missiles are getting through.
President Trump has not ruled out using ground forces despite saying the conflict is expected to end in the next three weeks. He has said he will get rid of the Islamic regime once and for all and wipe them off the face of civilisation.
More than 2,000 Iranians have been killed so far, and it is not certain whether the people of Iran want to overthrow the existing regime and be governed by the United States under a democratic process.
President Trump, in his address last night, asserted: “ We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We are going to bring them back to the Stone Age, where they belong.”
The President also added that gas prices would soon go down in the U.S. and that the stock market would bounce back.
Today, oil prices went up by 10 per cent, with Brent Crude now at US$110 a barrel and the stock market down.
President Trump told the nation that America does not need Middle East energy, as it has more oil and gas than Russia and Saudi Arabia combined.
