Broadcaster Simon Crosskill makes a welcomed return to the RJR Group with his morning radio show Power Talk on Power 106.

Crosskill stood back from broadcasting for the better part of a year and his absence underscored just how good he is at his craft.

There can be little doubt that he is among the pantheon of great Jamaican broadcasters and it is fitting that he now holds the slot once occupied by the great Wilmot ‘Motty’ Perkins and Ronny Thwaites.

His experience as broadcaster over decades lends gravitas to his new show. He has worked at the BBC, led as Group Head of Sports at RJR’s TVJ, co-anchored Smile Jamaica with Neville Bell,  been a lead presenter at SportsMax, served as executive producer and presenter at CVM’s Live@7.

Simon Crosskill

Some have pigeon-holed him as a fantastic sports broadcaster but that’s not the only arrow in his quiver. He is equally adept at business and current affairs, both local and international.

With social media platforms redefining the media landscape, every dilettante or ‘celebrity’ fancies themself as a broadcaster.

Crosskill is the real deal, a true Jedi.

Intonation, inflection, cadence, research, intellect, candour, humour, guided by data –  it’s a real pleasure listening to his show.

When he combines with Ralston Hyman, it’s like Michael Holding and Malcolm Marshall coming at you. Or, if you like, Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh.
How’s that!
