The West Indies women’s cricket team is heading back to Grenada for the first time in more than a decade, as they go up against the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team.
The teams will face off in three One Day Internationals at the National Cricket Stadium from February 20th to 25th, followed by three T20 Internationals between February 28th and March 3rd.
Leading the squad is captain Hayley Matthews, who returns after recovering from a serious shoulder injury that kept her out of last year’s Women’s Caribbean Premier League. She will be joined by newly appointed vice captain Chinelle Henry, who steps into the wicketkeeping role in place of Shemaine Campbelle.
The squad also gets a major boost with the return of all-rounder Deandra Dottin, who missed much of the 2025 season through injury, including the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in Pakistan and series against England and South Africa. Currently ranked ninth in ODI standings, West Indies will be eager to close the gap on sixth ranked Sri Lanka. Strong performances in this series could lift their position ahead of upcoming fixtures later this year against Australia, Ireland, Zimbabwe and Pakistan.
