Convicted rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs continues to beg President Trump for a pardon and to release him from jail.

Today, the White House poured cold water on a news report that President Donald Trump is seriously considering commuting Diddy’s prison sentence.

A White House official sternly told NBC News today, “There is zero truth to the TMZ report, which we would have gladly explained had they reached out before running their fake news. The President, not anonymous sources, is the final decider of pardons and commutations.”

Last month, Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison on counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Former Republican alderman Robert Yergin, now based in Dade County, Florida, said: “A lot of these rap guys are out of control. Drugs, violence, abuse, sexual assault are their stock in trade. President Trump doesn’t want to associate with that. He wants to return America to wholesome Christian values not be seen to be endorsing debauchery.

“Diddy has to remain in jail and contemplate how his life turned out. You saw the footage of what he did to Cassie? You heard about the freak-offs? President Trump cannot be seen to be giving bad behaviour a free pass. Diddy’s incarceration should be an example to those in the entertainment business that you can’t do whatever you want, then call for forgiveness.”

President Trump has been asked whether he would grant Diddy a pardon.

He has made it clear that he knows Diddy and that the entertainment icon turned on him, denouncing him when he ran in the 2024 Presidential election. He is unlikely to forgive that.

President Trump said, “You know, I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”

So is he likely to be forgiving and get Diddy out of jail?

“When you knew someone and you were fine, and then you run for office, and he made some terrible statements. So, I don’t know, it’s more difficult… makes it more difficult. I’m being honest, it makes it more difficult to do,” said Trump.
