Wife of KD Knight dies following battle with COVID-19

Tributes have been pouring in for Dr. Pauline Knight following news of her passing late Friday (August 20).

Knight, who is the wife of noted attorney-at-law and former government minister K.D Knight, died at hospital while battling COVID-19.

Prior to her passing, there had been unconfirmed reports circulating on social media platforms that Dr Knight had been recovering from the coronavirus.

News of her passing has come as a shock to many who knew her both publically and privately.

Knight is being remembered for the passion, zeal and commitment which she showcased during her time at the Planning Institute of Jamaica, where she served as the Acting Director General until late 2010.

“She was truly dedicated to that vision 2030 Jamaica plan when she worked at the PIOJ, RIP Mrs. Knight,” said one former colleague of Kinght’s on Facebook.

“R.I.P. Mrs Knight, I remember her from her days at the PIOJ,” added another.

Senior members of the People’s National Party, have also reacted to news of Knight’s passing, with comrades Richard Azan and Opposition Spokesman on Energy, Phillip Paulwell, offering words of encouragement to the Knight family.

“RIP Mrs Pauline Knight, my condolences to Cde KD Knight and his family,” said Azan on Facebook.

“It is profound sadness and with deep sympathy that we have learnt passing of Pauline Knight, beloved wife of our dear Comrade K.D. Knight. Condolences to the entire family, friends and colleagues. Rest in Peace Pauline,” added Paulwell.

After leaving the PIOJ, Knight went on to serve as a consultant.

Knight leaves behind her husband and daughter, also an attorney-at-law Stacey Knight Dennis.
