Yung Bredda is definitely not taking it easy as he belts the lyrics of The Greatest Bend Over on Saturday night.
Carnival Saturday found its rhythm in New Kingston as WiFete returned with a staging that leaned fully into performance, energy, and scale. Powered by title sponsors Smirnoff and Johnnie Walker, the event brought together a strong line-up and an even stronger crowd, reinforcing its place as one of the weekend’s key highlights.
Virgin Islands native Vicky Jhingai is embracing the island vibe for the first time in her Sundazed Ombre Maxi dress from Fashion Nova.
From the outset, DJs set the tone for what became a non-stop showcase of sound and movement. The ‘King of Steam’, Yung Bredda, ignited the stage with crowd favourites like The Greatest Bend Over and Inch by Inch, before Voice followed with a high-energy set that quite literally left him without a voice after delivering Cya Behave. Staying true to the Encore theme, Machel Montano delivered with the ease and authority that has defined his dominance across the Carnival circuit this season. Rounding out the line-up with a local edge was Skippa, whose performance underscored the event’s cross-genre appeal.
Here are the highlights:
Jamaican Beauty Queen Shanique Singh was shining bright like a diamond as she anticipates the night’s high-energy performances.
Media personality Talia Soares is always camera-ready, as she awaits the soca king’s presence on stage.
Soca performer Voice takes center stage at WiFete, delivering a standout performance of Cyah Behave.
Trinidad Native Achsah Henry is seen backstage as she awaits the performance from dancehall artiste Skippa.
This Canadian beauty, Shalaya Mitchell, is here for all the Jamaica Carnival moments, marking her second year as part of the festivities.
Hands were in the air as the King of Soca, Machel Montana, set the tone for epic moments ahead of Jamaica Carnival.
