Energy renewable company, Wigton Windfarm is backing down from any investments in real estate and real estate development at this time.

This follows a strategic planning review conducted by the Board of Directors in July 2024. The Board firmly believes that its new strategic objectives and business expansion plans, primarily in renewable energy and associated technologies represent a strong future to grow shareholder value.

In addition, the company’s thrust to further diversify Jamaica’s energy mix and contribute to the provision of energy to consumers at lower costs requires more focus in this area.

In light of the foregoing, Wigton Windfarm, which trades as Wigton Energy, has advised that it will list its property at Lot 28 Ferry Pen, St Andrew, for sale.

The company has also advised that Norman Naar has been appointed as Chief Commercial Officer, effective September 16, 2024.
