The William Knibb Memorial High School student who was charged with the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Khamal Hall on March 21, has been sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison.
The sentence was handed down by presiding high court judge, Justice Andrea Thomas, on Monday (December 5) in the St James Circuit Court.
According to reports, the accused and Hall had a dispute over a guard ring which Hall was allegedly accused of stealing. The dispute escalated and a knife was used to stab Hall in the neck.
Hall was later rushed to the Falmouth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accused teen, who was represented by attorney-at-law Marisa-Dalrymple Philibert, pleaded guilty to manslaughter when he appeared before Thomas in the Trelawny Circuit Court in November.
