Demonstrating its dedication to the health and well-being of Jamaicans, Windsor Wellness Centre has donated 2,000 pulse oximeters, valued at over JMD 7 million, to the Diabetes Association of Jamaica.
This donation, presented during a handover event at the Association’s Headquarters on Downer Avenue, reflects Windsor Wellness’s dedication to supporting frontline healthcare workers and ensuring patients receive the timely, effective care they deserve.
The handing over was done by Carla Brannon, Operational Manager of Windsor Wellness, Endocrinologist at the Diabetes Association of Jamaica, Dr Lidia Badell Moore. Before this generous contribution, the Association had just five pulse oximeters, which limited their ability to monitor patients’ oxygen levels. With these additional devices, the Association will be better equipped to provide life-saving interventions to patients managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes.
At a time when healthcare systems are stretched thin and the demand for essential medical tools is greater than ever. Windsor Wellness identified the Diabetes Association of Jamaica as a recipient based on the pressing need for reliable medical devices to manage respiratory-related conditions effectively.
“For us, this is not just about donating equipment—it’s about showing care, creating impact, and standing with the people of Jamaica,” said Badell Moore, “‘We see you. We value you. We are here for you.’”
Pulse oximeters are a vital tool for monitoring oxygen levels, providing healthcare workers with the information they need to act swiftly and save lives. The addition of these devices will transform the Diabetes Association of Jamaica’s ability to serve patients, enabling earlier detection of complications and more effective treatment plans.
“This donation is life-changing for our team and, most importantly, for our patients,” added Badell Moore. “Before today, we only had five pulse oximeters to meet the needs of our community. Windsor Wellness has given us the means to care for more people with greater precision and compassion. We are deeply grateful for their support.”
Windsor Wellness has long championed health and wellness in the Caribbean, blending cutting-edge technology with a patient-centred approach. This donation is a continuation of Windsor Wellness’s legacy of not just providing services, but actively investing in the health of the communities it serves.
“At Windsor Wellness, our mission has always been to care deeply, act decisively, and contribute meaningfully,” added Brannon. “We’re honoured to play a role in strengthening Jamaica’s healthcare system, and we’ll continue to support initiatives that make a difference in people’s lives.”
