Regional payment service provider, WiPay, could not miss out on partnering with the highly anticipated ‘Barbie‘ movie premiere event, which took place in Jamaica on Tuesday (July 25).
The event, organised by Shikima Hinds, Brangenic, and UCA, saw the enchanting world of Barbie come to life, while also raising vital funds and awareness for the Jamaica Cancer Society.
WiPay, collaborated with the Barbie movie premiere event to set up a special donation station, allowing attendees to make additional contributions in support of the JCS breast cancer awareness initiatives.
WiPay’s smart terminal played a significant role, as it was used by Amashika Lorne, head of operations for WiPay Jamaica, to accept a generous donation from Culture and Gender Minister Olivia Grange.
Kibwe McGann, chief marketing officer at WiPay Group, expressed his admiration for the event’s noble cause, stating “We are truly honoured to be part of the ‘Barbie‘ movie premiere event and to collaborate with the event partners in support of the Jamaica Cancer Society in their mission to raise awareness for breast cancer. At WiPay, we believe in supporting initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives, and this partnership is a testament to our commitment to giving back to the community.”
Minister Grange lauded the efforts of WiPay and the organisers in supporting the Jamaica Cancer Society.
“Events like the ‘Barbie‘ movie premiere hold immense significance in bringing together entertainment and philanthropy. I commend WiPay for their invaluable contribution in facilitating seamless and secure payments, which ultimately helps further the goals of the Jamaica Cancer Society. Together, we can create a positive impact and empower those fighting breast cancer.”
