The WiPay Group has officially launched its newest subsidiary, WiPay Remittance, marking a significant expansion into Trinidad and Tobago’s remittance market.

WiPay Remittance aims to deliver modern, accessible, and customer-driven solutions that offer greater flexibility for individuals, families, and businesses.

“Through its innovative approach to international peer-to-peer payments, WiPay Remittance is redefining how money is received and contributing to vital foreign

exchange (FX) inflows into the local economy,” WiPay Group expressed in a media release.

“WiPay Remittance service delivers a versatile and user-centric platform tailored to meet the evolving needs of consumers and businesses. Its key features include transfers directly to bank accounts, convenient nationwide cash pickup options, and instant payments to digital wallets,” it added.

These capabilities incorporated in the platform bridge the gap between traditional remittance systems and cutting-edge financial technologies, providing a robust solution for families, freelancers, and businesses across the Caribbean. In fact, WiPay Group boasts that its technology-forward approach facilitates financial transactions for individuals and businesses alike.

Beyond personal transactions, WiPay Remittance also provides a solution to the entrepreneurial and self-employed community—freelancers, gig workers, and small business owners—who benefit from an efficient and affordable platform designed to simplify international payments.

The platform offers lower transaction fees and shortened processing times, which supports the payments to and within the gig economy and e-commerce sector and creates opportunities for professionals and businesses to succeed in an increasingly interconnected global marketplace.

At present, WiPay Remittance partners with industry leaders such as RIA Money Transfer, XOOM, PayPal, and Remitly to transfer funds via:

  • Direct-to-Bank Transfers: Deposits straight to local bank accounts.
  • Cash Pickup Locations: Convenient cash collection at Miguel Moses stores in Arima, Port of Spain, and Chaguanas.

The company is planning the expansion of cash pickup locations across Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean.
