Woman charged with murder after stabbing incident in Mountain View Avenue area

Detectives assigned to the Kingston East Division have charged a woman with murder following an investigation into a stabbing incident on Mountain View Avenue in Kingston on Saturday.

The accused is 55-year-old Sharon Young, otherwise called ‘Roachie,’ a vendor of Beach Road in Bull Bay, Kingston. She has been charged with the murder of 56-year-old Nicey Green-Edwards of Long Bay, Portland.

Reports are that at about 10:30 am, Young and Green-Edwards had a dispute during which the accused used a knife to stab Green-Edwards multiple times. The police were summoned, and the injured woman was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Young was apprehended shortly after the incident by Kingston East Police and formally charged following a question-and-answer session with detectives.

Her court date is being finalised.
