Police and firefighters recovered the body of Derricka Rodgers from a septic tank at a property in Milk River, Clarendon, on Sunday, a few days after she was reported missing.

Bystanders stood in shock as the body of the 19-year-old, wrapped in a sheet, was pulled from the tank.

The Clarendon police were seeking to locate the boyfriend of the young woman following the gruesome discovery.

Rodgers, who is from Gravel Hill in the parish, was reported missing on Friday, May 27.

It is reported that a search of the property was conducted after fresh cement was found in an area around a pit. As they carried out investigations at the property, the police were forced to keep angry relatives, co-workers and friends of the deceased at bay.

Rodgers’ father was reportedly at the scene and positively identified her body.
