After officially unveiling its premium, limited-time offer ‘The Parish Collection’ – The Official Spirit of Jamaica 60, Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, received heaps of praise from the Olivia Grange, minister of culture, gender, entertainment and sport.
As the quintessential Independence celebrations to mark the approach of the island’s 60th year, consumers across the nation can now begin the Diamond Jubilee celebrations with J. Wray & Nephew’s limited-edition rum ‘The Parish Collection’.
Grange said she was proud of the company’s move to memorialise the power of Jamaican culture, its people and history.
“This is in keeping with our mission to deepen the spirit of patriotism and nationalism of Jamaicans at home and abroad and engage the world through a series of planned activities and projects that will rekindle a sense of pride in our Independence as a nation and create a lasting legacy,” the minister explained.
FIRST-EVER LIMITED EDITION PRODUCT
Pavel Smith, marketing manager, J. Wray & Nephew Ltd, was excited to share the brand’s first-ever limited-edition product with consumers.
“The Parish Collection is a total embodiment of Wray Rum’s ties to the Jamaican culture. From the
concept to the finished product, this special edition rum was created to pay homage to a culture unlike any other in the world. We look forward to seeing the reactions of the consumers across the island as they purchase their piece of history and celebrate Fi Wi Culture,” Smith said.
‘The Parish Collection’ is a special limited-edition product with a 70% ABV Liquid. It is described as flavourful, full of character and with a natural fruity aroma with overtones of molasses. The commemorative packaging features labels that pay homage to the 14 parishes of Jamaica, each showcasing a parish-specific landmark with a powerful storied history.
Now available in stores islandwide, consumers can purchase a bottle representing the parish of their choice or the full collection.
Grange, in her comments, acknowledged that the Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum has a longstanding love affair with the nation.
“Our White Rum. It has been immortalised in song, it’s been used to help to heal just about every malady, it’s to be found in almost every household here at home and abroad,” she said.
“No wonder Jamaican White Overproof Rum is generally considered as the best rum in the world.”
