Unperturbed by the power outage, TacBar at Devon House in Kingston, came alive for the debut of DJ Kryptic’s debut album Wrldwxde last Saturday night (June 10).
Fans and supporters of the upcoming disc jockey filled the venue for the buildup of the mixtape launch.
DJ Kryptic shared with Our Today his thoughts on the evening, saying, “It’s been a long time coming, I put a lot of work into this mix, the concept came out a year ago in the pandemic; I wanted to put out a body of work but it didn’t feel like the right time cause I was still building up traction.”
“Now that I’m in a space with a little more creative freedom, I decided I’ll put this piece together and put it out for people and what way to do it than by keeping it at a free event where any one can come to,” he continued.
Kryptic explained that his goal is for his mixtape is to expand the reach possible for Jamaican djs.
Attendees spent a relatively calm night enjoying the music selection from accross the globe from DJ Franco, Circa Eleven, DJ Romzii, DJ Tyler and Bishop Escobar.
