Dance Theatre Xaymaca (DTX) presents its 28th Season of Dance this weekend at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, UWI Mona.

The season kicked off on Friday (November 17) and will continue on Saturday. On the final day, Sunday, the company will feature new works as well as some signature pieces from its repertoire.

The company, which was formed in 1996, has received numerous rave reviews for its presentations each year.  Artistic director, Barbara McDaniel, who has been a key figure in the world of dance locally, has led the group since inception. She continues to lead the Wolmer’s Dance Troupe as well, of which DTX is a product.

“I am looking forward to seeing the dancers on stage this weekend and the reactions of our audience as they experience the spectacular work of our choreographers.” said McDaniel.

Patrons will be treated to new choreographic works for the 28th season from renowned choreographers Orville McFarlane, Charissa Clemetson, Renee McDonald and Onaje Bell and Barbara McDaniel.

Tickets are available at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts for the season.  Saturday and Sunday tickets cost J$3000 each.
