A lifelong goal to open their own Jamaican fusion Lebanese fast-casual eatery for everyone to enjoy came true on Monday, July 9th, 2012 for the Hados, and they celebrated their ninth year in operation last Friday.

“We’ve always wanted to own a fast-casual dining restaurant where the food was prepared fresh every day. We get our produce from local farmers and work hard to ensure that the food we serve is always of the highest quality,” says co-principal Nancy Hado.

Long-time customers who have supported Y Not Pita since its inception came in to get a special gift. Each of the nine customers received a branded reusable cloth bag containing a drinking glass mason jar, Tetley Super Tea Boost with Vitamin B6, Caribbean Dreams Old Style Instant Hot Chocolate Mix, and Jamaican-made True & Natural soaps.

“We realize it’s COVID, but we wanted to thank our customers for their nine years of faithful support. We decided to give a heartfelt gift to folks who eat here almost every day. So every item in the treat bag is healthy and Jamaican,” explains Nancy Hado, co-principal.

“Our first customer to get a gift was Karen Rickards, who has been a long-time customer. She’s a member of our extended family,” Nancy adds.

Chanel DaCosta, a medical representative and influencer who is presently training to become a fitness coach, is another frequent visitor. She enjoys Y Not Pita because it’s “healthy, fantastic, and affordable,” she says.

Blake Shoucair, a professional junior tennis player, who is always trying to stay active and healthy, came by to pick up his goodie bag. “I enjoy eating at Y Not Pita not just because of the relationship with the family, but also because the cuisine is consistently wonderful and the staff is friendly,” he says.

Kristofferson Nunes, a creative entrepreneur, likes eating at Y Not Pita because he can relax and enjoy the environment while sharing a simple dinner with his family. He went on to say, “The servers are quite courteous and pleasant, so I’d highly recommend.”

Other recipients included award-winning architect Clifton Yap and members of the Azan family.

“Just as we use fresh ingredients every day to make our pita wraps and salads, we took the same care while establishing a reward program for our customers. To obtain a free wrap, people just have to join the loyalty program and buy eight combos that spell out Y Not Pita,” says Nancy Hado, co-principal of Y Not Pita.
