Riding off the heels of a successful 2024 carnival experience, Yard Mas Carnival has signalled its intentions to stage its highly anticipated costume launch in early January 2025.
With no doubts that it will be a ‘Yard Mas New Year;’ the costume presentation promises to usher in a fresh wave of excitement for the carnival season, kicking off the new year with a celebration of vibrant costumes from new and returning designers and a taste of the unmatched “Yardie Energy” that has catapulted over the past two years.
“Almost a decade ago, I was grateful to be a part of the change in the carnival scene with bands launching at least six months before Carnival Day. This post-COVID era has once again seen the need to innovate and be flexible in how we plan and execute costume launches and schedule events in a time when the local entertainment landscape is evolving. With so many exciting events on the local entertainment calendar towards the end of this year, we wanted to give our patrons time to fully immerse themselves in all that will be offered and then start the new year with a “yardie vibe” in January 2025” said Andrew Bellamy, Managing Director of Yard Mas Carnival.
He also mentioned that throughout the international carnival landscape; there has been a move by some key stakeholders and new entrants to the regional landscape to have carnival experiences closer to the end of this year. “This diversity in the events tapestry allows us to plan better and execute an unforgettable new year of carnival magic for 2025;” he concluded.
Yard Mas Carnival continues to push the envelope in delivering an authentic Jamaican carnival experience. Innovating and curating carnival engagements that reflect the essence of Jamaican culture while creatively infusing elements from our Caribbean neighbours remain the focus of the Directors of the band. “Yardies” are reminded to stay tuned to Yard Mas Carnival’s official social media pages for updates and details regarding the January 2025 launch.
