Yendi Phillipps, the 2010 Miss Universe runner-up and Jamaican media personality, had the spotlight on her on Friday (December 2), when popular English singer Adele, sparked up a conversation after hearing the Jamaican podcaster singing one of her songs.
Adele, who was performing at her Las Vegas residency, ‘Weekends with Adele’ at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, reportedly said: “There’s a lady who’s been singing to every word, there she is, you, yes you.”
The British singer later sparked up a conversation with Phillips, where she expressed her love for Jamaica and asked Phillips about her favourite childhood memories.
Adele also posted Phillipps on her Instagram slide show of the event on Friday.
JOYOUS INTERACTION WITH ADELE
Phillipps took to social media to express her joy over interacting with the superstar singer.
In an Instagram post she said: “Imagine booking tickets for one of your favourite artistes of all from a year before, having it postponed due to a global crisis, then it’s rescheduled perfectly in time to complete celebrating one of your dearest friends, Yeeshie Morgan, and to top it all off, she spots you, walks to you in the audience passing rows of people and says she” feels like she’s having a full blown girl chat despite the 4,000 people in the room.”
The residency, which was originally planned to take place from January 21-April 16, was postponed earlier this year due to members of Adele’s team contracting COVID-19.
Weekends with Adele was later started in November and is set to continue until March 2023 with a series of Friday and Saturday night shows.
