British sprinter Zharnel Hughes is expecting his first child with Jamaican girlfriend Shenel Francis, who is a social media influencer and dentist.

The couple recently shared the exciting news with their fans on social media.

“Celebrating life, love, and little bump🤭❤️,” the couple captioned a post on Instagram. Congratulations have been pouring in for the couple since the announcement.

The couple has been together since 2018 but did not go public with their relationship until September 2022.

The Anguilla-born sprinter has competed internationally for Great Britain in the Olympic Games, World Athletics, and European Athletics events, and for England at the Commonwealth Games since 2015.

He is a three-time world championship medalist, claiming 100m bronze in 2023. He is a four-time European Champion and two-time Commonwealth Games 4x100m relay champion.

Hughes trains with the Racers Track Club in Jamaica under coach Glen Mills and trained with sprinters including Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, and Warren Weir.
