Zoom, the popular video-conferencing platform, has launched a new features that allows users to create and share video clips.
The video-conferencing platform debuted on Monday (August 7) Zoom Clips, a feature to record, edit and share short video clips instead of joining a meeting.
To record using Zoom Clips, users can do so through the Zoom desktop app, the Zoom web portal, or directly from the Mac menu bar or Windows system tray.
Users have the flexibility to choose recording options that suit their needs by capturing themselves or their screen or a combination of both. Additionally, they can tailor their content by selecting specific screens or the entire desktop, and enhance it with virtual backgrounds, noise suppression, and video quality adjustments.

In post-recording, users can refine their clips by renaming them, adding descriptions, and tags for easy retrieval, while also trimming unwanted sections to achieve a polished final product that can be easily shared.
David Ball, product marketing manager, meetings & chat at Zoom said: “Many people are turning to asynchronous video tools, like Loom, as a quick and easy way to record themselves and their screens and send high-quality, short-form videos to colleagues and customers.”
“To help enable clear communication, cut back on wasted time, and accommodate collaboration across time zones, we created an asynchronous video offering,” he continued.
This release comes out within a day after Whatsapp announced its new screen-sharing feature, effectively providing competition to video-conferencing platforms.
