Restaurant Associates Limited (RAL) has opened its 11th Popeyes Quick Service Restaurant in downtown Kingston in Jamaica.

The West Parade Food Court, as it is called, is located on the historic West Parade, home to a range of cultural and religious landmarks.  It is in the heart of the metropolis in close proximity to transport centres, markets, churches, and The Ward Theatre, all of which make for a bustling thoroughfare of commuters.

Sabrena McDonald Radcliffe, head, sales and marketing at RAL, franchisees for Popeyes, Burger King and Little Caesars, said “the new Popeyes employs 22 persons and is illustrative of our commitment to boosting economic growth and employment in Jamaica, whatever the odds”.

McDonald Radcliffe added: “What’s more, we’re taking our products and services to where the people are, for their convenience and enjoyment.”

“We now have eight Popeyes stores in Kingston and one each in Portmore, May Pen, Negril and Savanna-la-Mar, and there are more to come.”

Noting that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought challenges to the restaurant industry, causing many to close their doors, McDonald Radcliffe said “we now have eight Popeyes stores in Kingston and one each in Portmore, May Pen, Negril and Savanna-la-Mar, and there are more to come”.

RAL began operations in Jamaica with the Burger King brand in December 1984 and has steadily expanded its locations and brands, now boasting more than 45 stores islandwide.

The company has invested heavily through the three brands in youth, education, sports and entertainment.
