
Danielle Williams, Britany Anderson and Natoya Goule – ranked among the best in the world this indoor season – have been included in a 19-member Jamaica team named for the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia from March 18-20.
Williams, the 2015 World 100m champion and 2019 bronze medallist, is the fastest in the world this year with her lifetime best of 7.75 set in February. Close behind with a lifetime best of 7.82 that was also set last month is Britany Anderson, who is the fourth-fastest in the world this year.
Goule, 30, has the second fastest time in the world this year – 1:58.46, which is a national indoor record.

Also named to the team comprised of 16 women and three men, is Olympic relay gold medallist Briana Williams, who ran 7.09 at the New Balance Grand Prix in early February. Only Elaine Thompson-Herah, who was unavailable for selection, has run faster as a Jamaican this year.
Williams’ relay teammate Shericka Jackson, has also been named to compete over 60m. Her time of 7.12 makes her the third fastest Jamaican in the world this year.

Meanwhile, Roneisha McGregor and Stephenie-Ann McPherson are down to run 400m while Junelle Bromfield has been named as an alternate. Bromfield, Tiffany James, Tovea Jenkins, Janieve Russell, as well as McPherson and McGregor, will make up the 4x400m relay squad.
Danielle Thomas-Dodd is set to compete in shot put while Kimberly Williams will contest the triple jump.
Christopher Taylor leads the three-man team that includes Ronald Levy, who will go in the 60m hurdles and Nigel Ellis, who will compete in the 60m dash.
