Jamaican logistics and ecommerce platform 7Krave is celebrating 11 years of operations, marking more than a decade of transforming how Jamaicans access food, groceries, and everyday products through technology-driven convenience.

Founded by Rory White, the company was born out of a simple personal experience that revealed a larger opportunity within the Jamaican market.

“The idea for 7Krave really started in 2013 when my wife was pregnant and ‘kraving’ food, and I saw how difficult it could be to quickly find and get what you wanted,” White explained. “That personal experience sparked a bigger idea: to create a platform that made food more accessible and convenient for people in Jamaica. By 2015, that idea became 7Krave.”

Over the years, the company has grown from a food delivery service into a dynamic logistics and commerce platform.

One of the brand’s most defining milestones came in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when its partnership with KFC Jamaica helped deliver meals to customers across the island at a time when reliable delivery services became essential.

“In 2022, we expanded convenience even further with grocery delivery through 7Kravemart,” White noted. “Today, with 7Krave Marketplace hosting over 500 stores, we’ve grown beyond food into ecommerce, giving customers access to a wide range of products, including non-food items.”

What began as a solution to food accessibility has now evolved into a broader logistics ecosystem. The company now connects consumers to food, groceries, and retail goods through its expanding digital marketplace, helping Jamaican businesses reach new customers through delivery and online ordering.

White believes the company has played an important role in shifting consumer behaviour in Jamaica toward e-commerce and digital convenience.

“I believe 7Krave has helped Jamaica become more accepting of e-commerce and online shopping,” he said. “We’ve helped shape customer habits and encouraged businesses to see technology and delivery as real channels for growth.”

Innovation has remained central to the company’s success, allowing it to adapt to changing market needs while introducing new services that expand convenience for customers.

According to White, the company has even more ambitious plans ahead.

“We also have more innovative solutions to release in 2026 that will bring 7Krave even closer to becoming a true one-stop shop for full convenience,” he shared.

Like many startups, the early journey was not without challenges. White recalls that earning the trust of restaurant partners and building a professional delivery network required significant investment in people and systems.

“Two of the biggest hurdles were getting restaurants to trust us in the early days and developing a highly professional delivery workforce,” he explained. “Many of our riders came from inner-city communities, and for many this was their first job. We invested heavily in structure, standards, and development, and over time we built a stronger culture and a more professional operation.”

Looking ahead, the company is focused on expanding its partnerships and logistics capabilities while integrating new sectors into its ecosystem.

“The next phase is about scaling even further and expanding partnerships across the logistics space,” White said. “That includes deeper opportunities with farmers, pharmacies, and other sectors where convenience, delivery, and technology can make a real difference. We see 7Krave becoming an even bigger part of everyday life in Jamaica.”

As the company marks this milestone, White expressed gratitude to the customers, partners, and team members who have supported the brand’s growth over the past decade.

“I want to sincerely thank everyone who has been part of the journey,” he said. “Our customers, partners, team members, and supporters have all helped shape 7Krave into what it is today. We are grateful for the trust and support over the years, and we’re excited about what the future holds.”
