90% of customers re-connected to JPS grid

The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) Company Limited says power has been restored to 90 per cent or 612,000 of its total customer base of 692,000 up to Thursday (July 11).

“As we work towards the full restoration of service for all customers, I also have to pause and acknowledge the dedication of the teams on the ground working tirelessly to bring well-needed regularity to the lives of our customers,” said Blaine Jarrett, JPS’ senior vice president of energy delivery.

“I also thank the public for their understanding and patience as we make our way to their communities to bring back their light,” he said.

The main areas in which JPS teams are working over the next 24 – 48 hours include:

St James: Wales Pond, Miles Town, Lethe, Over River, Point, Kensington, Summer Hill
