

April is a very special month for, Grammy-award -winning, reggae artiste Stephen Marley. Today the Hey Baby singer celebrates his 51st birthday!
Marely was born on April 20, 1972, in Wilmington Delaware, in the US to famed Jamaican music legend Bob Marley and Rita Marley. Marely grew up in Kingston Jamaica with his family.
Given his family’s musical background, Marely would eventually enter the music industry at a tender age.
In 1979, at just seven-year-old he started his musical career as part of the child band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers alongside older siblings Ziggy, Sharon and Cedella.

The group recorded the song Children Playing in the Streets written by their father famous father.
A year later, Marley performed the lead on the Melody Makers’ single Sugar Pie.
The artiste’s musical career would blossom thereafter, as he followed in his parents’ footsteps.
Today, Marley is an eight-time Grammy Award winner, three times as a solo artiste, twice as a producer of his younger brother, Damian Marley, Halfway Tree and Welcome to Jamrock albums.

Marley also won the prestigious music award a further three times as a member of Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers.
Over the years the In My Room singer has dropped several hit tracks and continues to deliver energetic performances across the world.
