

American national Kalina Collier has been suspended from active duty, US carrier JetBlue Airways confirmed on Tuesday (February 16).
Manager of Corporate Communications, Derek Dombrowski, responding to a request for comment by Our Today, said that JetBlue continues its probe into Collier’s controversial incident in Jamaica.
Dombrowski further noted that while the company holds each crewmember to the highest standards, JetBlue does acknowledge that the 22-year-old Queens native outside her official duties as a flight attendant while on the island.
“JetBlue is aware of reports that one of our crewmembers vacationing off duty in Jamaica had been required to quarantine due to coronavirus health regulations. The crewmember has since safely returned to the United States after her quarantine expired. We have full confidence in Jamaica’s health protocols and it is important everyone follows the rules,” Dombrowski told Our Today.
“We hold each JetBlue crewmember to the highest standards when it comes to personal integrity and we are conducting an immediate investigation into the actions of our crewmember. The crewmember has been suspended while this investigation takes place. We apologize to the people of Jamaica and the Jamaican government for the concern and frustration this incident has caused,” he added.
