The Ministry of Health has allocated $48 million for ventilators at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston.
Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton, who made the announcement at this week’s post-Cabinet press briefing, also shared that the Kingston Public Hospital will receive a new computed tomography (CT) machine in September as well as future plans to procure and maintain diagnostics machines for public hospitals through leasing.

The minister offered an explanation for why the Government direction lease machines instead of purchasing them is ‘better’ for the country, and how this new strategy will help to improve diagnostic testing in the public sector.
