Wayne Cummings, chief executive officer of Arya Holdings Jamaica Limited, has announced the establishment of Jamaica’s newest international fried chicken franchise.

“Through our food subsidiary, Arya QSR Limited, we have been appointed the exclusive operator of BirdShack Fried Chicken, a United States-based franchise owned by BirdShack, LLC,” Cummings said in a statement.

ARYA TO DEVELOP NINE STORES IN JAMAICA OVER FIVE YEARS

Working alongside BirdShack LLC’s Jamaica area developers, CookSmart Equipment and Supplies Limited, the agreement commits Arya to developing nine stores in Jamaica over the next five years.

Arya, however, has indicated it is confident that it will grow the BirdShack footprint well beyond that mark.

Cummings said the chicken meal choices and taste profile of BirdShack’s chicken and accompanying side orders is nothing short of amazing and is perfectly aligned with the Jamaican people’s palette.

He added that Arya was so impressed with BirdShack’s proprietary seasonings, breading and cooking processes that it was an easy decision for the company to enter into the venture.

Jamaica’s first BirdShack Fried Chicken store is slated for opening mid-April this year at the Whitter Village Shopping Mall in Montego Bay, St James.
