WhatsApp has expanded its ‘View Once’ feature beyond photos and videos to now include voice messages.
The popular messaging platform initially introduced ‘View Once’ in 2021, providing users with an additional layer of privacy for their multimedia messages. The newly unveiled feature allows users to send voice messages that automatically disappear after being listened to, offering enhanced security for sensitive information sharing.

Whether it’s reading out credit card details to a friend or planning a surprise, users can now convey confidential information through voice messages with added peace of mind.
To maintain consistency with ‘View Once’ for photos and videos, View Once voice messages will be distinctly marked with a “one-time” icon, indicating that the message can only be played once. This measure ensures that the content remains private and can’t be replayed.
The global roll-out of ‘View Once’ voice messages is set to take place over the coming days.
