Adrian Dunkley, CEO of StarApple AI, has been honoured with the Data and AI Business Founder of the Year Award for the Caribbean by Global CEO.
This accolade is reserved for business founders who have demonstrated outstanding excellence and innovation in their respective fields, casting a spotlight on Jamaica’s prowess in the realm of technology and creativity.
Speaking on the achievement, Dunkley said: “It’s further recognition and proof of my belief that Jamaica has the highest concentration of creativity per square mile of any country in the world.”
The award not only reflects Dunkley’s achievements but also serves as a testament to Jamaica’s growing reputation as an incubator for ground-breaking technological advancements. Dunkley acknowledged the collaborative efforts of his dedicated team and partners, and credits them as having a pivotal role in steering StarApple AI on its journey into 2024 and beyond.
In addition to his entrepreneurial success, Dunkley is committed to fostering inclusivity and skill development in the Caribbean. He highlighted the Sprout non-profit programme, an initiative designed to provide free AI training to individuals in the region and democratising access to the technology. The programme has already made a significant impact by training over 300 people across the region, with 70 per cent representation being female spanning various age groups, countries, and professional backgrounds.
