Calls for atonement to save the land and its people

Popular evangelist and head of Fellowship Tabernacle, Bishop Dr. Al Miller has declared that Jamaica is ripe for a similar Port Royal calamity in which a massive earthquake struck on June 7, 1692 sinking half of the once wickedest city on earth into the sea.

In addition, Miller sought to provide a spiritual explanation to the recent earthquakes to have rocked Jamaica in the past two years, declaring, “The recent earthquakes were warning signs. Whenever the earth gives a warning two or three times, know that the inevitable will happen….The regularity of it (earthquakes) is a sign of the certainty that is to come. It is about to happen again,” referring to the Port Royal earthquake.

In a very thought-provoking sermon this morning, the clergyman declared that Jamaica is ripe for judgment, saying, “We and the citizens of our nation have for decades continued to increase the level of evil in the nation and many increasing wicked practices that have defiled the nation. We have to come together to break the curse of the self-inflicted judgement that is hanging our heads.”

Society has defiled the land

Continuing, Miller charged that we as a society have defiled the land contenting that it will respond whilst encouraging Christians and others to speak to the earth and appeal for it to have mercy. According to him, “Jamaica must be rescued now to give hope for our future. We must rent and appeal for the mercies of God for Jamaica.” 

He is encouraging Jamaicans to come together to break the curse of the self-inflicted judgement that is hanging over our heads. Saying all of our sins contribute to what has happened to Jamaica, Miller indicated hope is on the horizon contending that Jamaica must be rescued now to give hope for the future advancing that “as the stewards of the earth we have been given authority to atone and reverse the curse on our nation.”

He acknowledged that as citizens of Jamaica, we have for decades continued to increase the level of evil in the nation and many increasing wicked practices that have defiled the land, encouraging the society to appeal for the mercies of God for Jamaica.

He told his Fellowship Tabernacle congregation that church is the lifeline for the nation, acknowledging that the nation is in trouble and must be rescued, citing Fellowship Tabernacle as building nation changers.

“We are born for the transformation of this nation…this is our purpose. We are leaders in nation transformation. We must rescue it and transform it into the path it needs to take, the popular pastor told his congregation.

He said Fellowship Tabernacle was born to transform the nation’s destiny. “We have caused the problem…we need to wake up and solve the problems….We can speak to the earth and appeal for it to have mercy.” 

The church prayed for rescue from the wickedness and evil at the political and governance level, the people’s rebellion and rejection of the ways and laws of God, idolatry, witchcraft, immorality, sexual perversion, and lewdness as well as the abuse of the environment and defilement of the land with our sins, especially bloodshed, murders, abortion, and sacrifice of our children.
