Prime Minister Andrew Holness declared himself the man who can bring an idea to fruition, whether it be original or adopted, as long as it benefits the country.

Holness, making his contribution to the 2024-25 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives on Thursday (March 21), mused that he has great respect for good ideas, and has no problem giving credit where it is due.

“I always say the brain is not in one head, you can have great ideas and if you have great ideas, I am a person who respects ideas”,” he stated, “What I do, I give credit. But if you have a good idea, don’t let it go to waste, give it to me let me implement it!”

“I am the best baby father for ideas!” he asserted, lightheartedly as was met with much laughter and the members’ usual drumming of the tables. “The Andrew Holness-led administration will convert those dreams and ideas into reality.”

According to the prime minister, under his administration, the increased pace of project implementation has been such that the Government have struggled to spend the capital budget.

“We have listened to young people, we have listened to business, and we are responding,” noted Holness.

At a press conference on Thursday, September 12, Tufton said the electorate had spoken decisively in favour of the JLP and urged the Opposition to accept the results and focus instead on self-reflection.
