Secure 1 – 0 victory against Panama on the weekend

The Reggae Boyz ended their 2024 CONCACAF Nations League outing on a winning note, securing a 1 – 0 victory against Panama to end the competition in third place.
The Reggae Boyz victory came through a wonder strike from right back Dexter Lembikisa at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on Saturday, March 23. His debut goal for Jamaica came in the 41st minute of play and proved to be the decider between two teams that looked evenly matched
The first 15 minutes of the encounter were decidedly in Panama’s favour. It was a quiet start from the two teams but things came to life in the nineteenth minute when Jamaica forward, Shamar Nicholson had two excellent cracks at goal but was denied by Panama goalkeeper, Orlando Mosquera and then had his follow-up cleared off the goal-line.
Mosquera had to be alert again in the twenty-ninth minute, diving to his right to parry a Demarai Gray shot to safety. Panamanian substitute, Ismael Diaz did give the Jamaicans a scare in the second half when a deflection from some ragged Reggae Boyz defending, found him running onto the ball behind the backline, albeit at an angle.
However, his one-time strike rippled the net on the wrong side of the goal. The USA secured the win for a third straight CONCACAF Nations League title, after beating Mexico 2-0 in the final last night.
The victory came thanks to goals from Tyler Adams and Gio Reyna. The final was played in front of a boisterous crowd supporting both teams at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
