The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) says it is finalising preparations for the by-election in the St Ann North Eastern constituency scheduled for Monday, September 30.

The EOJ, in a media release on Thursday, September 26, said training has been completed for election day workers who will be deployed to conduct the polls in 146 polling stations across 27 voting locations constituency-wide.

There are 43,827 registered voters in the St Ann North Eastern constituency, as per the May 31, 2024 voters’ list that will be used for the by-election.

Voters are entitled to three hours’ time off from work to vote in the by-election on September 30.

The three hours’ timeoff to vote is in addition to the usual lunch hour. This does not apply to persons who commence work at 10:00 am or later or end work at or before 2:00 pm.

Voters are being reminded to take their voter ID card to the polling station and that the use or display of cell phones, cameras or other recording devices is not allowed inside polling stations.
