Former Head of Group Marketing at Sagicor Jamaica Alysia Moulton White and three other former top bank staffers are to be tried in April 2025 on the multimillion-dollar fraud allegations against them.
The others to be tried with Moulton White are her sister Tricia Moulton, who is a former Sagicor Bank, Liguanea branch manager; personal banker Malika McLeod; and Client Care Officer Tishan Samuels.
The trial is set for April 7, 8, 9 and 10 of April 2025.
The date was set when the accused women appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish court on Tuesday, October 22.
The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency alleges that over the period August to October 2022, the women conspired and defrauded the US foreign currency accounts of six Sagicor clients.
Detectives believe that over $60 million was stolen from the accounts.
Alysia Moulton White is charged with conspiracy to defraud, unlawfully making data available on a device for the commission of an offence, engaging in a transaction that involves a criminal offence and reciting stolen property.
The prosecution informed the court that it now had enough statements to proceed to trial.
Moulton White’s lawyer said there was not enough evidence to proceed to trial and that there was no criminal liability.
The prosecution said Moulton White engaged in “wilful blindness”, allowing her account to be used in the illicit activity.
