Wendy’s Jamaica has once again embraced the spirit of the season with its annual tradition of sharing joy and kindness through community support.
The quick-service restaurant brightened the holiday season for the residents of the Wortley Home for Girls in Constant Spring, St. Andrew, during their annual Christmas visit on December 17.
As part of the visit, the Wendy’s team created a memorable day of festive fun, delivering gifts, holiday meals and engaging the girls in uplifting conversations. Chadale Smith, Brand Consultant at Wendy’s Jamaica, led an inspiring session that encouraged the girls to share their dreams and future goals in a safe and nurturing environment.
“We are always happy to participate in the Wortley Home’s Christmas celebrations,” expressed Smith. “Each year, we are reminded of the power of giving and how a simple gesture can light up a child’s face and fill their heart with hope. Christmas is about spreading love and joy, and we are proud to contribute in any way that makes their holiday memorable.”
The Wortley Home for Girls, a non-profit institution founded in 1918 by Rev Canon Wortley, has long served girls aged 12 to 17 who have been affected by abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Located in Kingston, the home strives to offer emotional support, education, and a nurturing environment. Under the guidance of dedicated administrators, the Wortley Home remains committed to empowering young girls with the tools they need to overcome challenges and thrive.
“We are always thankful for Wendy’s Christmas visits,” shared Clerine Smith, House Master of Wortley Home for Girls. “Their annual Christmas visit is something the children look forward to each year. It’s not just about the gifts; it’s about the experience. A lot of these girls have never gotten the opportunity to have a burger –for them, it is a luxury that many others take for granted. Wendy’s kindness has made a lasting impact on our girls, and we are deeply grateful for their continued partnership.”
Mark Harris, a groundsman at the home for over 12 years, noted, “On the morning of the visits, you can often see the girls peeking through the windows in excitement as they anticipate the arrival of the Wendy’s team.”
“At Wendy’s, we’re not just about serving great food; we’re committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of the people around us,” Smith shared. “We look forward to continuing our tradition of giving back and sharing the spirit of Christmas with the Wortley Home for Girls and supporting other communities for years to come.”
