Scotia Group executives joined members of the Jamaican diaspora at the 2025 Independence Gala hosted at the Marriott Marquis in New York City last Saturday (August 23).

The premier black-tie event was sponsored by Scotiabank, which helped make the evening one of both celebration and impact, with proceeds supporting scholarships for students, advancing cancer screening and education programmes, and empowering women while strengthening community development.

The gala also highlighted the achievements of Scotiabank president and CEO, Audrey Tugwell-Henry, who was presented with the prestigious Business Leadership Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Jamaica’s financial sector.
