Unicomer Group has operations in 20 countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States. It acquired Courts, Jamaica’s largest furniture and appliance retailer, in 2006.

Walters began her career in retail at Courts Jamaica and has served the business for more than two decades in various senior management and leadership roles. Most recently, she held the position of regional business unit director within the Unicomer Group, where she was responsible for strategic planning and execution, performance management, operational oversight, innovation, and growth initiatives.

Commenting on Walters’ appointment, Unicomer Group Chairman and CEO Mario Simán said, “Ann Marie’s career is a remarkable story of growth and achievement. Her strong leadership and extensive industry experience make her the ideal person to guide Unicomer Jamaica into its next chapter. We are confident she will continue to drive innovation, operational efficiency, customer experience, growth, and profitability, while delivering exceptional value to our customers and stakeholders.”

A holder of a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, Walters has also earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of the West Indies’ Mona School of Business and Management and Bachelor of Law from University of London. She is a licensed realtor recognised by the Real Estate Board.

Expressing her pride in the appointment, Walters shared that it is a full-circle accomplishment.

“This is one of the proudest moments of my professional career, and I am truly honoured. Having started my journey as a sales representative at Courts many years ago, this achievement is deeply meaningful to me,” she stated.

“What has always stood out in my journey is the people—our customers who trust us and our team members who give of their best every day. People are the heart of this business, and I believe it is through respect, care, and genuine connection that we create real success. I look forward to leading our talented team, nurturing this culture, and building on our strong legacy of service, innovation, and value for the Jamaican people.”
