For the Rotary Club of Kingston, September became more than the start of a new school year; it was a season of hope.

All month long, the organisation placed the gift of reading into the hands of children and adults, providing mini libraries, sharing books, offering school supplies, and sparking curiosity.

At the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), children from forms one to four will benefit from the club’s donation of two mini libraries, with shelves lined with 70 books. Some 35 children were left with back-to-school supplies.

The Rotary Club of Kingston handed over another mini-library with 286 books for adults at the Salvation Army.

Hope Valley Experimental School was the next recipient of a mini library with 61 children’s books. An additional 15 students received supplies for the new academic term. STEM toys were also introduced, opening doors to discovery through play.

In total, the Rotary Club of Kingston delivered four mini libraries, 417 books, school supplies for 50 students, and a promise of brighter days. The impact stretched beyond Jamaica’s shores through partnership with the Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise and the Rotary Club of New Providence under the banner ‘Turn the Page Change a Life‘.
