Couples Resorts has established a special relief fund to provide direct assistance to employees and their families in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

The hotel, in a statement, explained that the fund is set up through its philanthropic arm, the Issa Trust Foundation, adding it would match every donation up to US$100,000 as it seeks to multiply the impact.

“These employees are the heart of the resorts, the ones who welcome every guest with warmth, kindness, and care, and now it’s our turn to care for them. One hundred per cent of all funds raised will go directly to support Couples Resorts employees, and to multiply the impact, Couples Resorts will match every donation up to US$100,000,” said the resort chain.

“Couples Resorts extends heartfelt appreciation to our guests and friends around the world for their outpouring of support. Their donations are helping the staff and their families rebuild their lives, and for that, we are profoundly thankful,” it added.

Couples owns and operates four all-inclusive beach resorts between Ocho Rios and Negril.
