Unicomer Group announces $75M in hurricane relief support

Ann-Marie Walters is the first woman to hold the post of managing director of Unicomer Jamaica.

The Unicomer Group, operators of the Courts retail stores in Jamaica, has announced a contribution of J$75 million to assist with relief efforts following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

The funds will be apportioned for national relief efforts as well as staff support.

“The Unicomer Group stands in solidarity with the people of Jamaica in this very difficult time. Through our Unicomer Jamaica office and our Courts brand, we will be working with the relevant entities and relief organisations to get help to those severely impacted by the hurricane,” said Ann-Marie Walters, Managing Director, Unicomer Jamaica. 

Walters reaffirmed the company’s commitment to Jamaica, its employees, customers and all its stakeholders during this challenging time. 

“Courts has deep roots in Jamaica, with a history spanning over 60 years. Jamaica is not just a market for us; it is home to our team members, our customers, and our legacy. We are committed to restoring hope and stability for those impacted by this devastating natural disaster,” she added.
