CVM Television has announced that international human rights attorney, journalist, and business leader Jodi-Ann Quarrie will be the new host of its flagship current affairs programmes, Lead Story and Lead Story Prime

She is set to make her debut on December 1. Quarrie’s appointment follows a distinguished global career spanning almost two decades.

Her expertise in human rights, reparations, climate change, and governance has taken her across the world, working with institutions such as the United Nations, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, the Caribbean Court of Justice, and with CARICOM leaders.

She has also served in senior leadership roles locally, including as Chief Executive Officer of the American Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica.

This has made her the perfect fit to drive local and international conversations on Lead Story and Lead Story Prime, according to CVM-TV’s Head of News, Sports and Business, Andre Jebbinson.

“Jodi-Ann is a powerhouse. Her global expertise, sharp analytical mind, and commitment to justice make her the perfect fit for Lead Story,” he said. “We are excited to welcome her and look forward to the fresh, insightful perspective she will bring to our viewers.”

A graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley Law School, Quarrie holds an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from the University of Notre Dame. She is the first CARICOM attorney admitted to the programme, and the first CARICOM woman awarded the prestigious Rómulo Gallegos Fellowship.

Her advocacy work includes supporting the fight to close Guantanamo Bay, securing the release of individuals detained for decades without conviction, and contributing to the landmark Shanique Myrie case at the Caribbean Court of Justice.

“Lead Story has become one of Jamaica’s most trusted spaces for national, regional and international dialogue,” Quarrie said. “I’m honoured to join the CVM team at such a pivotal time in our country’s development. My goal is to bring clarity, depth, and humanity to the conversations that shape our lives while amplifying voices and stories that deserve to be heard.”

Quarrie’s appointment signals a continued push by CVM-TV to strengthen its current affairs programming and deliver high-quality journalism to audiences in Jamaica and the diaspora.

Starting December 1, Lead Story will be extended to one hour, airing weekdays at 6:00 pm, while Lead Story Prime airs every Tuesday at 8:00 pm.

Both programmes are broadcast on air and streamed live on cvmtv.com, Facebook and ‘CVM Television Jamaica’ on YouTube.
