On February 13th, Sandals Dunns River hosted the opening of its new convention centre and boardrooms. Located on one of the island’s most beautiful coastlines, the new convention centre and boardrooms offer a unique experience for business travellers, with the Sandals standard of excellence.
Kevin Clarke, General Manager of Sandals Dunns River, says the new 8,000-plus-square-foot Convention Centre can be used for entertainment, receptions, retreats, conferences, graduations and training.
The new Convention Centre opening saw guests from Sandals Business Partners as well as the local travel industry. Mr Clarke added that the rooms at the convention centre were named after regions in the Ocho Rios community. The room names are Laughing Waters, Fern Gully and White River. The property itself offers 260 luxury rooms and suites with nine gourmet restaurants, and the resort is fairly new at only 3 1/2 years old.

St. Ann Mayor Michael Belnavis was present at the opening of the Convention Center said he was excited as the prospects of international business travellers, as well as Kingston corporate business, finding Sandals Dunns River more attractive means good for Ocho Rios and Drax Hall.
Carnel Smith, Director of Sales at Sandals Dunns River, said, “The Convention Centre can accommodate 360 people banquet style and up to 500 persons theatre style with state-of-the-art technology.”
