First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union Limited operates a branch in Morant Bay, the capital of St Thomas.

First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union Limited (FHC) advises that its Lawrence Tavern Branch, which remained closed following the passage of Hurricane Melissa, will not be reopened.

The decision forms part of the organisation’s review of the feasibility of resuming branch operations following the impact of the hurricane on business activities and complexities related to the lease and management of the building, following the recent passing of the property’s landlord.

All staff members from the Lawrence Tavern Branch have been reassigned to other branches, where members continue to receive full-service support across the 10-branch network islandwide and via alternative service channels.

The organisation remains committed to serving its members and notes that this transition allows it to focus on providing members with more convenient, efficient, and flexible service options, including expanded digital access and improved service capacity at its other locations. The branches are in Kingston on Eureka/Ripon Roads; Dominica Drive, and East Avenue, Kingston Gardens; in St Catherine at Old Harbour, Spanish Town, and Portmore; May Pen, Clarendon; Morant Bay, St Thomas; Mandeville, Manchester and Montego Bay, St James.

FHC asserts that its member-focused outlook remains at the forefront of its operations and that it will continue to support its members during this transition period. Members requiring additional support are encouraged to contact a representative of the organisation at 876-929-5142 or via WhatsApp at 876-551-8193.
