TEF excited to extend its call for applicants

The Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) has extended the application deadline for the Tourism Innovation Incubator, which invites applicants with innovative ideas for products and technology that will help develop Jamaica’s tourism industry.
The deadline has been extended to today (October 21) and interested persons 18 years and older have been invited to come forward with innovative tourism initiatives.
The incubator will facilitate or provide access to training, direct coaching and mentoring to take the ideas to market. Innovators will be assisted on the path to commercialisation through the Tourism Incubator Boot Camp.

TEF said it was excited to extend its call for applicants, thereby giving interested parties more time to work on their pitches.
Gis’elle Jones, TEF manager – research and risk management, is appealing for applicants to come forward, saying: “If you have a great idea, submit it to us by October 21 and we will help you get from idea to commercialisation.”
Through partnerships, the TEF will be providing a mix of services such as business model development, a 3D digital prototype of ideas, and a platform to pitch to investors.

Interested persons may submit their pitch to https://tef.gov.jm/tourism-incubator/.
Submissions require the completion of an application form, which is available on the aforementioned webpage, and the form should be accompanied by a 60-second pitch, stating the name and description of the innovation, why it should be selected, and the name of the applicant.
The Tourism Innovation Incubator was launched on September 30 in observance of Tourism Awareness Week. It is a development programme offering mentorship, strategy planning and business lessons for 25 selected applicants.
